Fulton hasn't had much luck against Northridge Academy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Jaguars will welcome the Pumas at 2:30 p.m. Fulton has given up an average of 22.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Fulton lost 33-2 to Sherman Oaks CES on Wednesday. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Northridge Academy entered their tilt with Panorama on Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They never let the Pythons get on the board and left with a 29-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Pumas, who have now won 12 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Val Montes was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
In other batting news, Northridge Academy got a massive performance out of Jackie Nettles, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Nettles has posted since back in February. Alana Kramer was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and four RBI.
Northridge Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Northridge Academy pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.3 runs over those games. As for Fulton, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
