Football Recap: Somerset Academy South Homestead Comes Up Short at Home Against Coral Shores

Somerset Academy South Homestead unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 20-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coral Shores on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

David Romero threw for 52 yards while completing 80% of his passes. Alexander Diaz-Machado was his top target, picking up 36 receiving yards. On the ground, Ray Marcano rushed for 97 yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy South Homestead is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Westminster Christian at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Coral Shores, they will square off against Palmer Trinity at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th.
