Recap: Mecklenburg County Phoenix vs. Martinsville Bulldogs
The Mecklenburg County Phoenix waltzed into their match Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 48-33 victory over Martinsville. That looming 48-33 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Mecklenburg County yet this season.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was McKenzie Hylton, who scored ten points. Yoshi Moyer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Mecklenburg County now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Martinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Mecklenburg County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Dinwiddie at 7:15 p.m. on December 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Dinwiddie is ranked 184th, while Mecklenburg County is ranked 187th). As for Martinsville, they will head out on the road to face off against Morehead at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Morehead is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
