Football Game Preview: Leigh Longhorns vs. Lincoln Lions + Official Tickets

The Leigh Longhorns will face off against the Lincoln Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Leigh is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Santa Teresa on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Longhorns were beaten by the Saints 42-7. The matchup marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Leigh got top-tier performance from Blake Zanger, who rushed for 172 yards. Zanger's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Lincoln was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 17-13 to Live Oak. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Acorns: they've now lost six in a row.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lincoln fell to 6-1. As for Leigh, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Leigh beat Lincoln 24-14 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
