Baseball Game Preview: Odessa Ducks vs. Lake Forest Spartans

For the second straight game, Odessa will face off against Lake Forest. The Ducks will face off against the Spartans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Odessa lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lake Forest, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Ducks never let the Spartans get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ducks.

Not much got past Dylan Schimpf, who gave up just two hits to keep Lake Forest off the board.

At the plate, Spencer Flayhart was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Odessa: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Cameron Crowe, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Odessa's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Lake Forest, they moved to 5-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
