Softball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Wesson's Winning Streak

If Wesson was riding high fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Franklin County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Wesson came up short against the Pisgah Dragons on Friday, falling 10-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cobras have suffered since March 6, 2024.

Wesson moved to 12-3 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Pisgah, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Wesson will head out to challenge Lawrence County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Wesson's pitchers better be ready for this one: Lawrence County has averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Pisgah, they will host Raleigh at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pisgah will need to watch out since Raleigh has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
