Baseball Recap: Rahway Takes a Loss

Rahway was the 16-5 winner over Plainfield when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians lost 19-6 to the Cardinals on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Indians have suffered against the Cardinals since May 7, 2021.

Roelvis Fermin Torres was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were his first of the season.

Rahway's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5. As for Plainfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Rahway and Plainfield will both be playing Piscataway Vo-Tech the next time they take the field. The Indians will head out to face the Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Cardinals will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
