Basketball Game Preview: Farmington Cardinals vs. Russellville Cyclones

The Farmington Cardinals are taking a road trip to face off against the Russellville Cyclones at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Farmington's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 12 matches.

Last Friday, Farmington blew past Greenwood, posting a 71-44 victory. The Cardinals have beaten the Bulldogs the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Russellville entered their tilt with Siloam Springs on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Panthers 68-52. Given the Cyclones' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Panthers are ranked 89th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Russellville's win bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Farmington, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Farmington strolled past Russellville in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 70-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Farmington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
