Football Recap: Doherty Memorial Comes Up Short

Doherty Memorial and Barnstable squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Doherty Memorial had to settle for second. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Hawks. The Highlanders were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Doherty Memorial now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Barnstable, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Doherty Memorial and Barnstable will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Highlanders see the field they'll take on Burncoat at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th. As for Barnstable, their break will end when they face Falmouth at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
