Basketball Recap: Citrus Hill Takes Down Mesrobian in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Citrus Hill had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They escaped with a win against the Mesrobian Bulldogs by the margin of a single free throw, 67-66. 67 seems to be a good number for the Hawks as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Citrus Hill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jerren White, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. White has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 31 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kason Steward, who went 7-for-16 on his way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Citrus Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive matches.

Citrus Hill's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Mesrobian, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.
