Basketball Recap: Cayuga Takes a Loss

The Cayuga Wildcats came up short against the Groesbeck Goats on Tuesday and fell 54-44. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Cayuga lost, don't look at Levi Satterwhite. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 36.4% of the Wildcats' points, marking the third time in a row Satterwhite has posted more than a third of the team's points. Carter Jenkins was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Cayuga's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Groesbeck, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Cayuga will take on Oakwood in a tournament on Thursday. As for Groesbeck, they will be taking part in a tournament against C.H. Yoe at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
