Baseball Recap: Beech Sets Scoring Season-High Against Rossview

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Siegel, Beech was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Rossview Hawks by a score of 10-7. The Buccaneers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cooper McCandless looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Douglass, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Cade Philpot was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Beech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Beech's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Rossview, their defeat ended a 21-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1.

Coming up, Beech will take on Portland in a tournament on Monday. As for Rossview, they will be taking part in a tournament against Clarksville Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Clarksville Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Rossview surely won't give up without a fight.
