Preview: Branham Bruins vs. Independence 76ers
The Branham Bruins will be playing in front of their home fans against the Independence 76ers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Branham will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Thursday, Branham humbled Piedmont Hills with a 43-7 victory. The result was nothing new for Branham, who have now won five matches by 29 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Branham to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elias Antillion, who rushed for 121 yards on only 12 carries, and also picked up 77 receiving yards. Jack Lewis was another key contributor, throwing for 277 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.
Branham's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Thomas Nguyen and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Independence at home against Gilroy on Friday as the squad secured a 48-7 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Independence.
Their wins bumped Branham to 5-2 and Independence to 4-3.
Everything went Branham's way against Independence in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as Branham made off with a 42-22 victory. Will Branham repeat their success, or does Independence have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
