Softball Recap: Bell County Bobcats vs. Whitley County Colonels

Bell County had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 3-11 to make it seven. They lost 12-4 to the Whitley County Colonels. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 20-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

As for Whitley County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games.

For Whitley County's part, Caylee Singleton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Cami Price was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayden Barton, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI.
