Softball Recap: Westville Comes Up Short

Westville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 8-3 to the Hobart Brickies. The Blackhawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Brickies from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Kiersten Vaughan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Westville's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Hobart, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-13.

Coming up, Westville will face off against Michigan City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hobart, they will head out to challenge Morgan Township at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cherokees have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.65 runs per game on average), something the Brickies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
