Softball Recap: Columbia Academy Triumphs

Columbia Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Grace Christian Academy on Friday. Columbia Academy's pitcher stepped up to hand Grace Christian Academy a 10-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won seven in a row.

Not much got past Anna Brewer, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Grace Christian Academy off the board. Brewer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carolina Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kinslee Wilhelm, who scored a run while going 4-for-4.
