Basketball Recap: Patrick Henry Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Trey Adkins and Mikell Tucker Mathis

Patrick Henry Academy was the 57-41 winner over Thomas Heyward Academy when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Patrick Henry Academy Patriots fell 56-48 to the Thomas Heyward Academy Rebels on Monday.

Patrick Henry Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mikell Tucker Mathis, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards, and Trey Adkins, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Mathis a new career-high in steals (two).

Patrick Henry Academy now has a losing record at 2-3.

Patrick Henry Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against St. John's Christian Academy at 7:15 p.m. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Colleton Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
