Diego Rivera suffers third straight loss on the road

After flying high against the Santee Falcons last Friday, the Diego Rivera Huskies came back down to earth. Diego Rivera was dealt a 85-38 defeat at the hands of Manual Arts on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Diego Rivera in their matchups with Manual Arts: they've now lost nine in a row.

Diego Rivera lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Izaya New, who scored ten points. Derrell Williams was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Devin Moody continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Manual Arts, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Moody has scored at least a third of Manual Arts' points. Another player making a difference was Kyle Castillo, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Diego Rivera bumped their record down to 5-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Manual Arts, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

Diego Rivera won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Dr. Maya Angelou Community at 4:30 p.m. on January 18th. As for Manual Arts, they will head out on the road to face off against Santee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Santee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1213th, while Manual Arts is ranked 272nd).
