Football Recap: Pine Bush Bushmen vs. Valley Central Vikings
After soaring to 36 points the game before, Pine Bush was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 14-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley Central Vikings. The Bushmen gained 162 more yards on the day, but it was the Vikings that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, Pine Bush still got an impressive performance from Ruben Simpson Jr, who rushed for 161 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picked up 57 receiving yards. The Bushmen also got help from Noah Schorling, who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.
AJ Gonzalez was nothing short of spectacular for Valley Central: he rushed for 151 yards and one TD while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Gonzalez was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards.
Pine Bush now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Valley Central, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Bush will head out to take on Middletown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bushmen are facing the Middie Bears at the right time seeing as the Middie Bears are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Valley Central, they are taking a road trip to face off against Newburgh Free Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
