Baseball Game Preview: Ashdown Panthers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks

The Ashdown Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Arkansas Razorbacks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ashdown not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 3rd (when they won 13-3). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Prescott a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Arkansas came out on top against El Dorado on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Razorbacks took their contest against the Wildcats 7-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Razorbacks as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Carter Davis was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Davis was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Mavrick Adcock was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. Arkansas is undefeated when Adcock posts three or more hits, but 3-12 otherwise.

Arkansas' record is now 6-12. As for Ashdown, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
