Softball Recap: Holy Spirit Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hammonton, Holy Spirit was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Ocean City Raiders 5-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Holy Spirit's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Ocean City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-7.

Holy Spirit and Ocean City should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Spartans will square off against Pennsauken at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (114 vs. 288). Meanwhile, Ocean City (ranked 40th) will meet Our Lady of Mercy Academy (ranked 244th) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
