Softball Recap: Puckett Victorious

Puckett's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They never let the St. Andrew's Episcopal Saints get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won four matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Puckett let Aubree Thomas and Meredith Shivers run wild. Thomas scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Shivers scored four runs while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave Shivers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Erin Fletcher, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Puckett was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Puckett's win bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Puckett and Mize will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pisgah at 4:00 p.m. on March 25th.
