            Baseball Recap: Holmdel Hornets vs. Lacey Township Lions        
        
		
        
        
            There's no place like home for Holmdel, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Lacey Township Lions  2-1 on Monday. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the   5-4 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in May of 2024.

 Dylan Zammit tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Holmdel's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Kyle Silberman, who  went 2-for-4 with one  RBI.
Holmdel is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Lacey Township, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holmdel will host Matawan Regional  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Lacey Township, they will take on Brick Township at 3:45  p.m.  on Wednesday.
