Basketball Recap: Carmel Takes a Loss

Carmel was the 61-57 winner over Hoffman Estates when they last played one another back in November of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The Carmel Corsairs lost to the Hoffman Estates Hawks on the road by a 54-37 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Corsairs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 569th, while the Hawks are ranked 137th).

Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Hoffman Estates, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Carmel will take on Wauconda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hoffman Estates, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Hoffman Estates Hawks take on the Sandburg Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Sandburg has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
