Baseball Game Preview: La Canada Spartans vs. Temple City Rams

The La Canada Spartans will challenge the Temple City Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (La Canada has four straight wins, Temple City has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, La Canada had just enough and edged out Village Christian 6-5. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by just one run.

Scott Burns looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Benji Geller was excellent, earning two RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Finn Flowerhogan was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Temple City's offense. They came up short against San Marino on Thursday, falling 12-0. Considering the last time the Rams couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Temple City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15-1. As for La Canada, their victory bumped their record up to 15-11.

La Canada beat Temple City 5-1 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
