Softball Recap: Garland Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Garland entered their tilt with Poteet on Saturday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Poteet Pirates get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Three seems to be a good number for the Owls as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Garland's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Christine Porras, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Kaylee Stephens also deserves some recognition as she hit her first hit of the season.

Garland's win bumped their record up to 5-1-1. As for Poteet, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Garland will take on Sachse at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Garland's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Sachse's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Poteet, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Crandall at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Crandall has won three straight at home, while Poteet won seven straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
