Basketball Recap: Holton Takes a Loss

Holton lost against Mason County Central back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Holton Red Devils had to suffer through a 61-24 loss at the hands of the Mason County Central Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 734th, while the Spartans are ranked 353rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Holton and nudges their season record down to 2-16. As for Mason County Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holton will venture away from home to square off against Shelby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holton is facing Shelby at the right time seeing as Shelby is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. Mason County Central has already played their next game (against Hart), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
