Baseball Recap: Milford Finds Home Field Redemption Against Covington

There's no place like home for Milford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They blew past the Covington Owls 17-7 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Lucas Geisel and Swish Washington did most of the damage at the plate: Geisel went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Washington got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Geisel has posted since back in March. Ayden Tucker also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Milford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Covington only posted an OBP of .500.

The win got Milford back to even at 7-7. As for Covington, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5-2.

Looking ahead, Milford will challenge Bluff Dale at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bobcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.9 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Covington, they will face off against Blum at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
