Basketball Game Preview: Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Imhotep Charter Panthers

Abraham Lincoln is 1-8 against Imhotep Charter since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters will venture away from home to square off against the Imhotep Charter Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Abraham Lincoln played in conference for the first time on Tuesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They were the clear victor by a 73-53 margin over Overbrook. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Railsplitters.

Abraham Lincoln's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dajon Smith, who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Miguel Rosa Jr, who put up 18 points.

Meanwhile, Imhotep Charter entered their tilt with West Philadelphia on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Speedboys 74-36. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.

Abraham Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Imhotep Charter, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Abraham Lincoln ended up a good deal behind Imhotep Charter in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, losing 75-57. Can Abraham Lincoln avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
