Basketball Recap: Ossining Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Saniya Bell and Claire Schnecker

Ossining was the 85-68 winner over Ardsley when they last played one another back in February of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Ossining Pride fell 59-48 to the Ardsley Panthers on Saturday.

Ossining's loss came despite strong showings from Claire Schnecker and Saniya Bell. Schnecker posted 20 points and eight rebounds, while Bell earned 18 points along with five boards and three steals. Bell's morning made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Torrieri, who had four points and four steals.

Ossining's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Ardsley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ossining will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against North Rockland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ossining is facing North Rockland at the right time seeing as North Rockland is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Ardsley, they will head out to face off against Pelham Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pelham Memorial will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Ardsley surely won't give up without a fight.
