Basketball Recap: Grand Saline Comes Up Short

Grand Saline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edgewood Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 42-37 back in December of 2024.

Kagan Grant had an outrageously good game for Edgewood as she posted 15 points along with seven assists and six boards. That's the most assists Grant has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taylor Thompson, who had 14 points and five rebounds.

Grand Saline's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Edgewood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-18 record this season.

Grand Saline has already played their next match, a 64-18 defeat against Malakoff on the 17th. As for Edgewood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-33 loss against Quitman on the 17th.
