Basketball Recap: North Johnston Panthers vs. Princeton Bulldogs

In what's become a running theme this season, the North Johnston Panthers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Princeton with a sharp 66-42 victory. The victory was nothing new for North Johnston as they're now sitting on three straight.

North Johnston was led to victory by Cory Barnes and Marcel Freeman. Barnes scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Freeman scored 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Freeman has scored at least a third of North Johnston's points. Cooper Gibson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Despite the loss, Princeton still got an impressive performance from Denicholas Gray, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gray has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Woodall, who scored four points along with two blocks.

North Johnston's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. As for Princeton, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Johnston will take on the Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Spring Creek is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Princeton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Averaging 61.65 points so far this season, Eastern Wayne's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Bulldogs better be ready for a challenge.
