Basketball Recap: Sandusky Blue Streaks vs. Clyde Fliers

There's no place like home for the Sandusky Blue Streaks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They took down Clyde 69-52 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sandusky also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

It was another big night for Mae Rameau, who shot 5-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double on 30 points and 13 steals. She has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last four times she's played. Ra'kiya Collier was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Several Fliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Sengstock, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Sengstock scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Taitum Jeffrey, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Even though they lost, Clyde smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sandusky only pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.

Sandusky pushed their record up to 9-10 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points per game. As for Clyde, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandusky will take on the Redmen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bellevue will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Clyde, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tornadoes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Columbian is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
