Baseball Game Preview: Red Hook Raiders vs. Saugerties Sawyers

Red Hook is 1-9 against Saugerties since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Raiders will take on the Sawyers at 7:00 p.m.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Red Hook and Highland, and Highland kept the tradition alive. The Raiders fell 4-1 to the Huskies on Wednesday.

Red Hook saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Dibble, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saugerties). They put the hurt on Roosevelt with a sharp 16-3 win on Monday. The game was the first time the Sawyers have beaten the Presidents on their field since May 9, 2022.

Red Hook's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Saugerties, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Red Hook came up short against Saugerties when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 6-1. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
