Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Altamont

Altamont put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pinnacle Panthers a 16-0 shutout. The Longhorns have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Briggs Wall and Colt Duncan made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Wall pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Duncan struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in August of 2024. At the plate, Wall got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Duncan went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Parker Harrison and Asa Fisher did most of the damage at the plate: Harrison went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Fisher went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Fisher is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Gage Bird was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Altamont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pinnacle only posted an OBP of .263.

Altamont's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Altamont will take on Bryce Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pinnacle, they will face off against Green River at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Panthers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
