Basketball Recap: Jordan Draeger's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage Christian over Luther Prep

After flying high against Catholic Central last Friday, Heritage Christian came back down to earth. The matchup between the Heritage Christian Patriots and the Luther Prep Phoenix didn't end well, with the Heritage Christian Patriots falling 59-45. The Patriots were probably out for revenge after losing 57-55 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Draeger, who posted ten points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Seroyer, who put up 13 points and five rebounds.

Heritage Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Luther Prep, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Christian will venture away from home to face off against Messmer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Messmer will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Heritage Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Luther Prep, they will challenge Kingdom Prep Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Kingdom Prep Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Luther Prep likes a good challenge.
