Softball Recap: Crockett County Beats Halls for Their Third Straight Win

Crockett County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Halls Tigers an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Anna Stallings tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Piper White was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wesley Thornton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Crockett County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Halls only posted a batting average of .176.

Crockett County's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Halls, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Crockett County will be playing in front of their home fans against Dyersburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Cavaliers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Halls, they are taking a road trip to square off against West Carroll at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
