Basketball Recap: Sienna Bramble Key Part of Team Effort in Bruins Win

Mountain View lost to Provo back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Mountain View Bruins walked away with a 52-39 win over the Provo Bulldogs.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sienna Bramble, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 13 points. Kimberlee Brown was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Mountain View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Provo lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Sutton Villa, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 13 points along with eight boards and five blocks. Villa is crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Izabelle Moyes, who went 5-for-11 en route to 16 points.

Mountain View has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Provo, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-3.

Mountain View didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-35 victory against Orem on the 11th. As for Provo, they will welcome Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Provo has won three straight at home, while Jordan won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
