Football Recap: Millburn Starts Season with Win at Home

Millburn gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They strolled past The Pingry School Big Blue with points to spare, taking the game 42-27. The score was all tied up 13-13 at the break, but the Millers were the (much) better team in the second half.

When it comes to explaining why The Pingry School lost, don't look at Ryan Moye. Despite the final result, he rushed for 88 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries, and also threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.4 yards per attempt. Another player making a difference was Alex Finkelstein, who picked up 135 receiving yards and one score.

Coming up, Millburn will be playing in front of their home fans against Barringer at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for The Pingry School, they will head out to challenge Montclair Kimberley Academy at 2:00 p.m. on September 6. This will be the Big Blue's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
