Softball Recap: Rogers Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Rogers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Emerald Ridge Jaguars. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 win the Jaguars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Sierra Murray spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rogers saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Walling, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Rogers' victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Emerald Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
