Preview: Tabiona Tigers vs. Bryce Valley Mustangs

Tabiona has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Bryce Valley Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Tabiona is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bryce Valley in Utah (Tabiona is ranked 36th, while Bryce Valley is ranked 127th).

Even though American Prep WV scored an imposing 61 points last Friday, Tabiona still came out on top. Tabiona walked away with a 71-61 win over American Prep WV.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tabiona to victory, but perhaps none more so than Logan Rhoades, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Peterson, who scored 18 points along with five assists.

Meanwhile, Bryce Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Milford an easy 48-24 win. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bryce Valley in their matchups with Milford: they've now lost three in a row.

Tabiona's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Bryce Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Tabiona was able to grind out a solid win over Bryce Valley when the teams last played back in March, winning 66-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tabiona since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
