Volleyball Recap: Parkway Central's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

It was a good run, but Parkway Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Friday. They fell 2-0 to the Lutheran Cougars. If the Colts were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Cougars when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19.

Maddie Schaefer paced Parkway Central's offense, picking up five kills. Schaefer got some help from Taylor Jesse and her 11 assists.

Lutheran found their leader in sophomore Samantha O'Day, who had seven digs and two aces.

Parkway Central's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Lutheran, they moved to 6-12-1 with that victory, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

Parkway Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Festus on the 4th. As for Lutheran, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Fort Zumwalt North on the 4th.
