Baseball Recap: Elba Takes a Loss

Elba was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-1 to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Lancers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Fighting Irish from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Elba saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicholas Scott, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Elba's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Notre Dame, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Elba is set to square off against their familiar foe Byron-Bergen at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Notre Dame will face off against rival Oakfield-Alabama at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Fighting Irish 2.5, the Hornets 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
