Soccer Game Preview: Greenbrier East vs. George Washington

Greenbrier East is 1-9 against George Washington since October of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Greenbrier East comes in on seven and George Washington on three.

Greenbrier East proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Jefferson get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Greenbrier East's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Jefferson are ranked 26th).

Meanwhile, George Washington made easy work of Bridgeport on Saturday and carried off a 5-0 win. The result was nothing new for George Washington, who have now won nine matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Greenbrier East's record now sits at 10-1-1. As for George Washington, their record is now 13-2-1.
