Baseball Recap: King William Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, King William couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Poquoson Islanders by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. The Cavaliers have struggled against the Islanders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

King William saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Longest, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

King William's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Poquoson, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-8.

King William wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Buckingham on the 9th. As for Poquoson, they have also already played their next game, a 1-0 win against Strasburg on the 10th.
