Northern Cambria has gone a perfect 3-0 against River Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Colts will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 3:00 p.m. Northern Cambria is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.3 runs per game this season.
Northern Cambria will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Saturday, then bounced right back against Purchase Line on Monday. The Colts blew past the Red Dragons 22-5. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Parker Shutty made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.
In other batting news, Brad Valeria was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Nathan Fry was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Northern Cambria always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .527. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Purchase Line only posted an OBP of .355.
Meanwhile, River Valley posted their closest win since May 8, 2024 on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Greater Johnstown 8-7.
Caden Vresilovic was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Burkhart, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Northern Cambria pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for River Valley, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.
River Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Northern Cambria has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for River Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Northern Cambria keep running through batters, or will the Panthers buck the trend?
Everything went Northern Cambria's way against River Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Northern Cambria made off with a 17-2 win. Will the Colts repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
