Lansdale Catholic is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Father Judge on Wednesday. They came up short against Father Judge, falling 9-1. Lansdale Catholic has struggled against Father Judge recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Nate Hagarty made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Ethan Schmidt also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.
Meanwhile, Conwell-Egan Catholic won against Archbishop Wood on Monday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Archbishop Carroll. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Caleb Cuaves tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Landau, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Brady Guzzie was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.
Conwell-Egan Catholic pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lansdale Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
