Softball Recap: Berwick Finds Home Field Redemption Against Wyoming Area

There's no place like home for Berwick, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They never let the Wyoming Area Warriors get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

Makayla Brown was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Brown wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Drauschak, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Berwick's record now sits at 8-9. As for Wyoming Area, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Berwick will head out on the road to challenge MMI Preparatory School at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. MMI Preparatory School has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.13 runs per game on average), something Berwick will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Wyoming Area, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake-Lehman at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
