Basketball Recap: Purvis Comes Up Short

After flying high against Vancleave on Monday, Purvis came back down to earth. The Tornadoes received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 42-26 to the Northeast Jones Tigers. The loss continues a trend for the Tornadoes in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Purvis lost, don't look at Zoey Robinson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 14 rebounds and ten blocks.

Purvis' record is now 12-12. As for Northeast Jones, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Purvis will challenge rival East Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Northeast Jones is set to take on their familiar foe Wayne County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
