Baseball Recap: Bishop Ready Comes Up Short

Bishop Ready fell victim to Columbus Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 14-0 to the Vikings. The Silver Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Vikings earlier this season, when they won 7-1.

Bishop Ready saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Mutnich, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Mutnich has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Bishop Ready's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-12. As for Columbus Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bishop Ready will face off against Westerville North at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.81 runs per game on average), something the Silver Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Columbus Academy, they will challenge St. Charles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
